Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated historical drama, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, is going steady at the Indian box office. The movie, also featuring R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, has grossed around ₹34 crore net in India in its first four days of release.
The film took an opening of ₹7.75 crore on Friday, followed by ₹9.75 crore on Saturday. Sunday registered a further increase, with collection amounting to ₹12 crore, demonstrating good word-of-mouth and robust weekend occupancy. On Monday, the film collected approximately ₹4.5 crore, bringing the overall tally to ₹34 crore. Though Monday’s collection saw a marked decline from the weekend, this trend is commonplace after the initial jump.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and under the production banners of Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, Kesari Chapter 2 also gave life to the role of C Sankaran Nair, an attorney who battled for justice following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Starring Akshay Kumar as the center figure, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday take on important roles.

The film’s occupancy rates were healthy over the weekend, with Sunday logging a 26.94% Hindi occupancy. On Monday, the occupancy fell to 14.39%, in accordance with typical box office patterns after the weekend.
Kesari Chapter 2 has also fared well internationally, collecting ₹14.5 crore in three days and its overall worldwide collection nearing ₹50 crore. The film now ranks among the highest-grossing Hindi movies of 2025 till date.
While Kesari Chapter 2 lags behind Akshay Kumar’s recent successes such as Sky Force, it has beaten some of his other recent films and is still attracting viewers, particularly in metro cities. With no big releases scheduled for the near future, the film is likely to sustain its pace till the end of the week.
Kesari Chapter 2 is a box office strong performer, thanks to good performances, historical significance, and good word of mouth from the audience.
